INR Media, an innovative online B2B media publisher/internet startup is currently seeking managing editors and writers for several online news websites.
Major responsibilities include the following:
• Write and edit features, news and departments. Generate, write, create and develop stories and company news relevant to the readership of each news site.
• Copy edit and proofread all pages for accuracy, adherence to AP/publication style.
• Promote the news site by generating, developing and writing promotional and marketing materials when necessary. Work with industry professionals and companies in the industry to develop and news articles relevant to readers.
• Represent news site at industry events when appropriate (some travel may be required).
• Work closely with publisher to produce timely and relevent content for the site.
Skills Required:
• Strong feature, editorial, and news writing skills; strong copy editing skills and knowledge of AP style.
• Strong interviewing and research skills using multiple media.
• Strong Internet production knowledge, including the ability to HTML code, post/delete material from and otherwise maintain the website.
• Work independently with limited direct supervision and under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to continually learn the industry.
• Positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
• Form positive working relationships with the industry, PR professionals, advertising clients, and readers.
• Conduct oneself professionally in all environments, including industry events.
• Ability to travel to represent publication at industry events.
Professional Requirements:
• Two or four year degree in English, English writing, journalism (print or magazine), communications or the equivalent.
• Two years’ professional experience in publishing or writing, or the equivalent.
• Web production skills, including HTML coding, ability to post/delete Web site content and other Web site maintenance skills.
• Proficiency in WordPress
• Ability to edit and create online graphics and logos
• Professional marketing/PR experience a plus
• Must have a reliable DSL or faster internet connection
